Old Model vs New Model
In 2019 Honey Badger released their new handle design that allowed for moving the pocket clip for both right and left hand carry.
All handle sets that were released since then were designed to only fit these new models.
The most obvious way to see if you have an old or a new model knife is by looking at the pocket clip screws.
New models have 2 pocket clip screws on BOTH sides of the knife. The older model knives that are not compatible have only one screw opposite the pocket clip.
Another change that was made was to make the pivot screw removable from only one side. This was achieved by the pivot screw having a torx socket only on the one side. The non pocket clip side as the knife comes out of the box.
On the pocket clip side on the new model there is just a round hole in which the wrench will not fit.
On the new model a spacer was inserted on the non pocket clip side. When the pocket clip is moved to the other side this spacer then fills the slot on the other side where the pocket clip was.
So, if you are wanting to fit new scales to your knife, make sure to know if you have the older or the newer model.

I've been using the Flipper for a while now and have no complaints. It's easy to sharpen and clean and the grip is great. The ball bearings make opening one handed really easy and convenient when busy. The blade has had no corrosion despite being used for irrigation and different chores over a year or so. I have named her Ratel out of respect to the quality and robustness of this great value for money knife. I use her as a daily carry and love the lightweight sturdy design.
A friend of mine who is a knife maker told me, "People who ignore Honey Badger Knives are missing out on an absolute winner of a knife for the price. You should really pick one (or more) up. You'll see how good they are." I agree with him. Don't miss out on such great value and functionality.

Quality, well made knives. American craftsmanship
The knife itself has been working great ever since I got it, medium drop point with D2 steel. It is still sharp as when I got it despite slicing through a lot of cardboard, electrical tape, and self vulcanizing rubber wrap on coax connections. The loop hole was super useful for being able to attach a safety lanyard to the knife when using it on tower climbs to keep it secure. I did run into an issue where some of the screws and hardware came loose and backed out after a little over a year of use, but that was also due to me not checking the screws were tight, as you should do periodically. The spare replacement parts arrived very quickly, and customer service was super helpful and responsive in making sure I had everything I needed to get the knife back in working order. I would say that I would buy one again, but I have a feeling the next time I'll be buying one is to give to a friend or to replace this one if I loose it, as it is going to last me a long time :-)
My husband has nothing but nice things to say about how well that nice works I'm getting him one for Christmas because within 5 to 10 minutes my husband kept talking about how he wanted a knife from honey badger
Best knife ever to occupy my pocket 💯👍. Never without it. Recommend it to anyone who needs a excellent, practical edc.knife. Good price as well, don't think you can do better than that.
This knofebis awesome! I have a Medium Black clip point knife. And I use it for everything. Cutting boxes, paranoid, even steak, because most restaurant steak knives are absolute trash. So, it's a great edc. Get one, or two today!
